On a state visit to Berlin. The research sailing vessel ALDEBARAN and the German Ocean Foundation present their work to the visitors of the ‘Open Day 2016’ at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
The curator Katja Vedder is an expert for contemporary art, that focuses on the themes of ocean and water. For the ‘Open Day’ she has brought together two artists to show their work to the public.
The artist and photographer Lisa Hoffmann has been going to sea on board the container ship MV Atlantic Companion as machine cadet and technical officer. She captured her experiences in the form of photo catalogue, which will be presented in addition to a selection of fine art prints.
The artist Peer Oliver Nau presents two wooden sculptures from his new series “Deep-Sea-Fishes” which have been exclusively commissioned for the German Ocean Foundation.
